Two Years Later...

It’s hard to believe Black Lavender Co. is officially two years old.

Some days it feels like I just registered my business yesterday. I still remember sitting there, filling out the paperwork. I was excited, but if I’m being honest, I was also terrified. There were so many unknowns. I didn’t know if anyone would buy my candles, if people would believe in what I was creating, or if this little dream would grow into something bigger.

But I took the leap anyway.

A few months ago, I was looking through some old photo albums when I found a folded piece of paper tucked between the pages. Curious, I opened it and realized it was a list I had written to my future self years ago.

It was filled with dreams and goals. One line immediately caught my attention..."Open my own spa on an island". I laughed. I may not have opened a spa on an island… but I did open a business. And somehow that dream wasn’t so different after all.

Even when I was younger, I always imagined creating something of my own. I wanted to build a place that made people feel calm, comforted, and cared for. Today, through every candle, room spray, hand soap, and collection we release, I realize that’s exactly what Black Lavender Co. has become.

Maybe not in the way I originally pictured it, but sometimes life has a funny way of leading us exactly where we’re meant to be.

These last two years have been full of learning, growing, celebrating wins, making mistakes, and continuing to show up even on the hard days. Running a small business isn’t always easy, but it’s one of the greatest blessings I’ve ever been given.

I still pray for the strength to keep creating, to keep learning, and to continue loving this business as much as I do today. I pray for the courage to dream even bigger and to trust where this journey is taking me.

But the truth is, none of this would exist without you.

Every order you’ve placed, every candle you’ve lit in your home, every kind review you’ve left, every market you’ve stopped by, every recommendation you’ve shared with a friend...you’ve helped make this dream possible.

Thank you for trusting something I created with my own hands and welcoming it into your homes. That is something I will never take for granted.

As we celebrate two years, I’m not just celebrating a business anniversary. I’m celebrating a younger version of myself who dared to dream, even when she didn’t know exactly what that dream would look like.

She would be so proud.

And while I don’t know exactly where the next two years will take us, I do know one thing: I’m incredibly grateful you’re here for the journey.

Here’s to more years of growth, more beautiful collections, more stories told through scent, and more homes filled with comfort.
